My mobile has an extended SD slot.

My mobile has an extended SD slot. I the Android File tree there is a folder called "SDCard". If I have data saved to that folder and I factory reset, is that data safe?

My device has been acting ... wonky for about a month and my last effort to extend its life is basically to to start over and hope a factory reset resolves the issues.

Thanks,

I had to do a factory reset on my phone a couple of times. The first time I ejected the SD card. The second time, I didn't. The contents were unaffected.

Didn't have to factory reset. I was ready to break the damn thing when I decided to look and see which app/service was making the battery run so hot. Turns out an app I hadn't used in months was such 10-15% of my battery every hour. I checked it's effect on memory and it was unusually high there, too.

Deleted the app and everything's been fine. The power button still doesn't work, but else does.
