Disturbing, to say the least. It would be naive to think some problems wouldn't happen, especially with the quantity and time constrictions on the migration of children, but the government has to act within the scope of the law. If a relative or family friend steps forward it's much easier to place a child than to wait for some altruistic non-related family to become available. That some people lied or weren't investigated as safe is tragic. This article doesn't really get into the follow-up of the situation and that bothers me even more. So, the government has identified children who have gone into less than desirable situations. Now what? Where's the recourse? Are the social workers hands truly tied or must the children continue living in abject slavery because of the rules. What penalties or charges might the farms face for using migrant children as cheap slave labor? And the man who "married" his underage foster child? Are there charges pending for him

I haven't donated to Wounded Warrior for one simple reason: the government should be caring for us veterans, not the generosity of people who believe they're helping. And now I'm glad I didn't send them any money. Seems the charity is about as good at not spending on their cause as Susan B. Komen's Walk for the Cure. One of the many reasons I follow a diverse amount of ideas on here. I abhor echo chambers and gladly walk into posts with ideas I don't necessarily agree with. I do this to have the discussion. However, it seems most people are more interested in their like minds. They're interested in +1s and shares, "atta boys" or the feeling of acceptance they get from echoing their echo chambers. I think the internet, especially social media, has made it easier for people to hide behind ideological walls so they never have to be confronted with different ideas. And this is bad. I can't think these all happened on the same day. Not sure why Google made a movie out of bits and pieces from a lot of different days, but they did. One day, I know, is July Fourth a couple of years ago. Another is December 20ish, a couple of years ago. Another took place in early May, I think.
