What's in a name? I'm writing a book (that seems to keep getting longer and longer) and I wanted my characters to be grounded in reality: normal mundane names. I was called a troll today. Again. For comment "on subject." That's right. A Google+er, and former Buzzer, posted how he thought the new BB phone had a sexy design with a link to an article about said phone. I commented how I don't find inanimate objects sexy. Then I'm a troll. Why? Because I don't think a phone, or a car, or a TV or a toothbrush is sexy? He set the tone of the discussion by declaring his attraction to a piece of molded plastic and that's the discussion I stayed with, even though I disagreed with him. How is that trolling? Has social media killed the art of conversation?

I don't log into Facebook much. Not much at all, in fact during the months of November and December I took a self-imposed FB hiatus and since January 1st have only logged into Facebook four or five times.  However, I have  logged into Facebook, from this very same laptop from which I'm typing out this blog post; from the very same wifi I've logged into Facebook from for the past few years. After receiving this first screen response letting me know my account's been locked, I then get the second one telling me I have to confirm my own identity. The first test for me  was a captcha, one of those annoying ones that doesn't actually spell out any words, just random letter combinations in odd fonts and skewed positioning to make them practically unreadable. Well, the good news is, I went and had my motorcycle checked out yesterday and it's not eh stator that's bad. Turns out the stator is putting out the right amount (of voltage/amps?) and it might be the very less expensive rectifyer. Woot!

So, apparently there is a firmware update to fix some exploit on the Exynos chip. The day G+ Communities were launched I received an invitation to join this, and about 10 other, Atheist communities. Today I finally declined the invitation. Why? Because the "About" section says to read the Announcements (of which there are over 70) and the only announcements I saw were Adam S (the community creator) blabbering about all the other Communities he's created and praising this community's numbers, as though it's a popularity game. It's quite annoying and not something I want to be a part of. Not to mention, another GPlusser was admonished by the moderators (of which there are two for a community of over 12,000) for posting in the community without filling out the "Introduction" section first. That doesn't sound like a fun place to hang out, to me.

Went to a fund-rasier/BBQ for a downed rider today. Jim, the owner at TFOG Wheelsports in Golden Colorado was apparently trying to avoid running into the car in front of him that stopped suddenly when he got smacks from the rear. Spent some quality time in the ER and is walking on a crutch. Jim's our go-to guy for just about everything and he bends over backwards for our local riding group. Robert Glover turned off commenting after getting in his last word. That's one of my biggest pet peeves on social media. Anywho, I don't agree with lane splitting. Having sat in traffic a gazillion times in both my truck and on my motorcycle, I feel it's safer to have my allotted space in traffic than it is to split between cars. Maybe Robert Glover has never had to sit in traffic or deal with road rage from someone who's had a bad day at work, or who's running late, or spilled their coffee on their lap and now that damned motorcyclist is jumping to the front of the line.  I don't want to lane split and have someone decide to open their car door on me, or turn into the lane to block me, or get out of their car to try and grab my handlebars or any of a dozen other ways to mess with a motorcyclist. Especially when (in Colorado and a few other states) helmets, jackets and gloves aren't mandatory and too many riders are out there without protective gear. I don&#
