Do you prefer one movie house over another, or are you a fan of all the comics-to-film offerings? I thoroughly enjoyed BvS , not so much Justice League and while I have thus far enjoyed nearly all Marvel Entertainment films, #GotG2 was not my favorite by far. I think the reason I enjoy Marvel movies more is simply that, in my opinion, they're more character driven. Marvel Studios takes the time to develop the characters, whether they're the Black Widow getting a few extra moments of backstory in Age of Ultron or the very real contest of loyalties portrayed in Civil War . DCEU, on the other hand, seems to be going for more splash and pizzaz, such as we saw in *Justice League_. But the largest problems I've seen so far in #DCEU movies is their tendancy to have an extremely large build up to a lackluster finale. I had a Leatherman way back in the mid-90s but preferred the slide-out pliers of my Gerber multi-tool instead. Many many moons ago I read the first book in the self-titles series, Dune . Frank Herbert's novel has a lot of themes and ideas that have stuck with me ever since. The thing is, by the time I read Dune I'd already seen the 1984 film and after reading the book (in the early 90s) I re-watched the movie and knew why it wasn't that good of a film: Dune is so much more. You see, like many books, there are integral pieces to the story that just don't translate well to a visual format. Some times you can pull it off ( Game of Thrones ) and sometimes you can't (see just about all adaptations of Stephen King novels-to-film). It looks like Hollywood is going to try and resurrect a fan-favorite once more. And yet, regardless of past outings, Hollywood is going to reboot recapture the magic of Dune for a modern audience. Poor DCEU. They really do need to get their act together. What's amazingly frustrating is that their animated movies are generally far better than their live-action films. They seriously dropped the ball with BvS and Justice League and contrary to popular belief, Suicide Squad wasn't that great. Wonder Woman was a decent movie, but like all DCEU films, thus far, it told a decent story then rushed the ending just to wrap things up. I don't know what WB/CD can do to change their movie fortunes, but whatever it is, they're already far behind Marvel in movie reputation. I'm still confused as to how you can have a Venom movie without first introducing the symbiote in Spider-Man. According to this article, #DonaldTrump does indeed deserve some credit for boosting the economy. Not for his tax cuts, but because they see him as unwilling to create new "restrictive" policies, enforce environmental safety or clean water/air/soil standards. In other words, executives are thrilled at the USA's return to a 19th Century style of lassaiz faire capitalism where the rivers ran black with runoff, entire forests were cut down to make way for toilet paper and mountains were stripped down as they were mined for dirty coal. And CEOs are eager to take advantage of the the idea they can put an oil well at your neighborhood park or make that local swimming hole toxic to the flesh. But, whatevs, right? I owned the very first iteration of the GoPro way back in the day. Then, I bought the Hero1.5. There was no official Hero1.5, but they offered the Hero with a resolution upgrade to 960 which was good enough for YouTube at the time. A few years later I decided to get away from GoPro altogether for one reason: they're expensive. I had friends purchase cheap knock-offs that took just as good, if not better, videos that cost a fraction of the price. Let's face it, I could spend $400+ on the latest name brand or $50 8 times on a knock-off. In the end I chose a GoPro competitor: Garmin. Their cameras are just as good as GoPro and so far Garmin's customer service has been fantastic.
