Originally shared by David Keith Proofs of God’s Existence I want to say first that technically we cannot prove God’s existence to the world’s standards. I do not have a videotape of God. All we can do is look at all the evidence that is available to determine the most plausible, scientific, logical and most intellectually reasoned thing to believe.   Secondly I want to address the concept of science vs. faith. Many people will say that a belief in God is not scientific but merely a matter of faith. One thing that we’re going to establish here is that a belief in God is scientific. Not that there is anything at all wrong believing in God on faith alone. I would however like to show you that a belief in God is backed up by science. We don’t believe in God because of science however science does back up our belief in God. A lot of people have and will continue to ask, If God exists who made him? If someone

That's right, if you submitted an image in the past and it wasn't a winner, it's still disqualified for this run.  I know it's been winter and most of us (northern hemisphere people) haven't been out riding, but there could still be a picture from your past, or a picture of your bike in the snow, or a picture of your gloves or whatever. 5  Submissions must be tagged with the hashtag #MRPFeb2014  . Please remember to put the hashtag in the original post (and if at all possible, let us know about the picture. Anywho, about a week ago it snowed in Denver (again). I mean, it's winter and snow isn't uncommon during this time of year. Naturally, I took Rufus to the dog park. He loves the snow and has a blast running around in the icy cold goodness. I think he agrees with the cooler weather and the snow just makes everything smell new and wonderful. Eradication A long time ago in a galaxy far far away there was a woman. She was at the dog park and calling out "Rufus!" over and over again. Sometimes that's easier said than done. Dog Park at Cherry Creek State Park This morning I arrived at the dog park just a

I'll grant, not everything in the EU was good and some was downright awful, but to slash 30 years of books, comics, video games and other canonical histories of that far far galaxy away seems a bit harsh. Of course, Disney does have a history of ignoring the source material if a story they're copying in or to make it "more Disney." http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/01/op-ed-disney-takes-a-chainsaw-to-the-star-wars-expanded-universe/

A few years ago I read about a photographer, or rather a photographic method, wherein the photographer would rent stuffed animals, set them up in the 'wild' and then capture those great images. As far as I was concerned such actions were unethical and when I expressed my disdain other photographers came to the method's defense, citing whatever it takes to get the shot. When I read the headline for the below article I feared the article would be a long the same lines: ...uses animals from his friend's taxidermy shop... or some variation thereof. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how he captures these great animal portraits. http://distractify.com/culture/arts/photographer-netherlands-incredible-nature-photos/

Not sure where else to drop this, so General it is! Science solves writing! Originally shared by Iain Macadair "We presented the first quantitative study that learns to predict the success of literary works based on their writing styles. Our empirical results demonstrated that statistical stylometry can be surprisingly effec- tive in discriminating successful literature, achiev- ing accuracy up to 84% in the novel domain and 89% in the movie domain. Furthermore, our study resulted in several insights including: lexical and syntactic elements of successful styles, the connec- tion between successful writing style and readabil- ity, the connection between sentiment / connotation and the literary success, and last but not least, com- parative insights between successful writing styles of fiction and nonfiction." - Vikas Ganjigunte Ashok, Song Feng, & Yejin Choi http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/10560533/Scientists-find-secret-to-writing-a-best-selling-novel.html

Former NSA staffers point out pretty clearly how the NSA, Congress and the President has lied -- or been lied to -- in regards to the NSA's bulk spying program. One of the paragraphs I found incredibly forthcoming was this revelation about an NSA executive who came on on September 11, 2001. “As I pursued what I was tasked to do, I was surprised and deeply troubled to discover that, with a secret go-ahead from the White House, NSA had unchained itself from the protections of the Fourth Amendment and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978. The vast power of NSA had been unleashed secretly on US citizens through a massive bulk surveillance program called STELLARWIND, a program completely unknown to most if not all of those working at the SIGINT Automatic Research Center." http://truth-out.org/news/item/21089-nsa-insiders-reveal-what-went-wrong

It's fairly well known in legal circles that eyewitness testimonies cannot be counted upon.

It's fairly well known in legal circles that eyewitness testimonies cannot be counted upon. Due to this, courts and juries expect corroborating evidence to support an eyewitness' account. But what happens when the witnesses are 3 and 5? When mass hysteria overrides proof and fact? The legal system fails, that's what happens. http://www.slate.com/articles/health_and_science/medical_examiner/2014/01/fran_and_dan_keller_freed_two_of_the_last_victims_of_satanic_ritual_abuse.html

If my brother had internet I'd send this to him.

If my brother had internet I'd send this to him. He's the laziest most non-involved father I've ever met and the real tragedy is he's a single father. The good news is, the girl (my niece), has nearby family keeping her alive. I don't have any kids anyone's told me about. I have a dog. Generally, I treat my dog better than some parents I know treat their children and way better than a lot of dog owners treat their canine companions. There's nothing wrong with being responsible, with doing the right thing over the easy thing. And there's nothing to be ashamed of about being a good parent. This man knows what I'm talking about. http://goodmenproject.com/families/i-have-a-dream-that-people-will-view-a-picture-life-this-and-not-think-its-a-big-deal-gmp/
