New shoes!

New shoes! Picked them up yesterday while the weather wasn't too bad. Metzler Z6's that were on an incredible sale. Probably because the Z6's are being replaced by the Z8's and they're cleaning out inventory. This photo is after the bike was rolled out of the garage, but before I had even put 100ft on the new rubber. http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/2004/01/article/metzeler-z6-tires-review/ In the past I've loved Pirelli Stradas, which were replaced by the Angels (which I'm coming off of and not a fan of) so I'm hoping for good results with the Z6's: http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=b19e6413844ad94af22abd916b71b52f;topic=14464.0 (Please disregard the dirty bike)

For one, I'm glad our skies aren't cluttered with drones. And yet, on the other hand, not being able to see the world from a bird's perspective is disappointing. Originally shared by Screw Muggz In 2013, when the first consumer drones began arriving on the market, photographer Amos Chapple knew he needed one. After purchasing a drone, he traveled the world photographing famous landmarks — before some governments had time to roll out regulations on drone use. "There was a window of about 18 months where it was possible to fly these things anywhere and people were excited to see it. I'm glad I made use of that time," Chapple says. Now, with drone use illegal in many of these locations, his collection of beautiful drone images are some of the only aerial photos of their kind.  http://www.businessinsider.com/illegal-drone-photos-around-the-world-2016-12

His home is on the fell Korvatunturi (“Ear Fell”) on the Russo-Finnish border. Being the chosen people of the Santa, it is obivious that Finns know best how to celebrate Christmas. Therefore I have compiled you an overview of some of the most essential Finnish Christmas traditions. As everywhere, the buildup for Christmas starts early, and this is of course reflected in the media. After the press is done with discussing the dresses worn at the President’s independence day ball (December 6th), by tradition the news is mostly about: • whether there will be snow on Christmas or not • how you absolutely must not put the grease left over from cooking your Christmas ham into the toilet, as it will clog the sewers and feed the rats • police reminding you about burglars, heavy traffic on the day

Since Google was initially reluctant to send cars to the archipelago, locals took it upon themselves to get their own interactive images out into the world, raising awareness of the region’s uniquely beautiful landscapes. In the end, they not only attracted Google’s interest but managed to spawn a creative DIY approach to mapping rugged environments. This endeavor and an associated petition eventually did get Google’s attention, but by the time they showed up with vehicles the self-mapping system was well underway with sheep, bikers, backpackers, ships and even a wheelbarrow playing parts. Bush White House ethics lawyer, said Gingrich was off on his reading of the Constitution. “If the pardon power allows that, the pardon power allows the president to become a dictator, and even Richard Nixon had the decency to wait for his successor to hand out the pardon that he received for his illegal conduct,” Painter said. “We’re going down a very, very treacherous path if we go with what Speaker Gingrich is saying, what he is suggesting.” When GWB's ethics lawyer calls something unethical you need to pay attention. http://politi.co/2hBf1Jc

#DonaldTrump is going to eschew the Secret Service for private security.

#DonaldTrump is going to eschew the Secret Service for private security. Let that sink in: he's going to refuse an agency that was created to do nothing more than protect the president (although, it's scope of work has expanded since then) and let a private security firm take it's place. The very last bulwark against a tyrant are guards that are loyal to the state and not the man. I"m not saying anything will go wrong here or that there's some nefarious plan in the back of Trump's head, but putting the Secret Service on the back burner in favor of "more loyal" troops is yet another in a long line of bad signs. The question is: will Congress refuse to allot money for a private security firm or will they agree to expense even though the Secret Service is already funded? http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/donald-trump-security-force-232797

WWI started with an assassination, too. I'm not saying this will result in a global war, but with the Middle East already in turmoil and Russia already in Syria, this gives the Russian state a larger excuse to be more aggressive in the region. Maybe, hopefully, any contentions that arise from this assassination will be resolved diplomatically. This might well be the dumbest thing I see all day and I read political news. Is Joe Wilcox really trying to claim that a smartphone, any smartphone , is more productive than a laptop? Quick! Someone, anyone, how many words per minute can you type on an iPhone? Joe claims kids are more used to touch screens, but conveniently forgets that Chromebooks come in touchscreen format. And then there's the nearly $1000 pricetag for the next iPhone, whose technology will still be a few years behind Android, vs. the couple hundred dollars for a top of the line Chromebook. He also conveniently forgets that Chromebooks beat iPad market share in education a few years ago and no one but Apple has cried over it. http://betanews.com/2016/12/17/iphone-should-replace-chromebook-in-the-classroom/

I can't help but agree with most of this article. Last year I bought a Moto360 and penlight returned it after two weeks. It just went something I could see muskeg using. For example, I wasn't going to search the net on such a tiny screen, not when my phone was only arm's reach away. And speaking out a text out email, even making a call, was too cumbersome. I west a one-way "smart enough" watch right now. Imagine how mad his tiny fingers would be!! He would totally lose all the ratings. I know I've posted a few articles in this collection about online privacy and there's a reason I do.

I know I've posted a few articles in this collection about online privacy and there's a reason I do. This is how to see what Google knows about you. FaceBook, Apple, even Microsoft know all, if not most, of these things as well. Yahoo? Yes. Even some benign apps know these things, as well. Remember, your data is more valuable to a company than you buying their app or service. Every time an app or service pops up that becomes popular the developers are trying to figure out a way to gather your data so it can be packaged and sold to marketers. Every time you offer more data for convenience (which is why many app makers "require" features like GPS be turned on) you're trading away your privacy. And if you think you have nothing to fear, you have nothing to hide, ask yourself: would you be so cavalier if the government wanted to track you? All it takes is a National Security Letter for them to access all that information. https://www.google.com/amp/www.computerworld.

We talk about integrity and communication, of doing the right thing, making a quality product and then ensuring a positive end user experience. We usually speak of these things when we're talking about startups or small businesses, but rarely do we see wherein a lack of trust, of faith in a company's management, result in one enterprise refusing to work with another. Usually these concerns are wrapped up as some other explanation, such as a security issue or contractual disagreements. Is #DonaldTrump a narcissist?

Is #DonaldTrump a narcissist? I think we can agree he is. The question is, can a narcissist put 300+ million people's concerns over his own? via Roberto Bayardo http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/what-top-fbi-profiler-taught-me-about-extreme-narcissists-donald-trump#.WEjPca87F1M.twitter

Did General Motors purposefully poison generations of Americans because they wanted to control the additives in gasoline? There's a saying, What's good for GM is food for America. Is that true? GM single handily dismantled rail systems across the US, removing public transportation from NYC to LA so people would be forces to buy cars. Now, decades later, cities and states are expensively rebuilding rail infrastructure in an effort to mitigate overcrowded cities from coast to coast. Originally shared by Chris Kim A Lead is a poison, and burning it has dire consequences. So how did it get into gasoline in the first place? http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/leaded-gas-poison-invented-180961368/?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=socialmedia

I'm not sure who's more wrong here, the company that used this person's code to justify no longer needing the position or the coder letting the company fail due to a kill switch. I'm also not up to date on my legal Mumbo-Jumbo so I can't speak to the legality of what the coder is presenting, but I'm sure that doesn't bar the coder being sued (should they discover this) with a costly defense. http://m.imgur.com/gallery/9bvFs

I'm not entirely sure why the human sexuality teacher felt the need to make an anti-Trump political rant, nor am I clear on the recording laws in California, this city or this college, but I do have to wonder what sort of environment this attorney (Steele) believes the school is fostering wherein a student and teacher can't disagree without the professor retaliating on the student. I disagreed with my professors all the time, even going so far as to tell one she was completely delusional. She still gave me an "A" because I kept it on topic and argued the merits. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2016/12/08/orange-coast-college-student-threatened-with-expulsion-after-recording-professors-anti-trump-tirade/
