There are a lot of beliefs about homeless people and yet the truth is far more depressing. I went to college here in Denver and had numerous adjunct professors (none mentioned in this article) who had day jobs but taught in the evenings. For example, in the article he posts below, a photographer takes a photo and sells it to a couple of online media outlets. The woman in the photo, unidentifiable by the photo alone, takes the photos, strips it of it's copyright and watermarks before uploading it to her social media. The photographer then sues because she's sharing for free what he's already sold. More importantly, she's sharing it without attribution. He created the photo. He owns the rights to it. Yesterday I added a week's worth of events to my Google Calendar via a webcalendar set up by the organizer of the event I'm attending. This was done via the desktop/browser interface and the events all show up on browser, but I noticed later in the day that none of the afternoon events were on my calendar. I wrote the events not showing off to me being tired but decided to check this morning. Sure enough, all the events for today but one, are missing on mobile. That means no reminders, no addresses, no event descriptions, etc. So, I went to Google's Help site and found a solution that didn't resolve anything. In the end I had to go to Settings ==> Calendar ==> Storage and clear everything before rebooting the device. Reading a different article about a different subject and an errant anecdote caught my attention. Is there a biological component to being gay beyond the chemical composition of the brain? Maybe that's not clear. Is being gay written into the DNA of the body? In dog breeds certain characteristics such as enhanced smelling capabilities, sight, hunting, herding etc. have been known to express themselves physically. For example, a famous breeding program in Russia (if I remember correctly) demonstrated that breeding for heightened sense of smell in canines resulted in dogs with similar physical features even though their lines came from different stock. It explains why herding breeds all have similar features as well as gun dogs, fighting dogs, etc. Does this translate over to human beings? Are there physical traits that show up in confident people? The other day I posted an article about how some WWII "war" game became impossible to win if you played the game on "Centrist" mode. That article was satire but the intent of the article was correct: you can't beat Nazis without being willing to confront them. It looks like the creators of the #SouthPark game have a similar idea in mind, but with race. You want to play a white character and the game is easy. You want to play a darker character and the game gets far more difficult.
