Want too hear something weird? Yesterday I bought a Duncan butterfly yo-yo because I didn't have one and they're fun to play with. So, I played with it last night and a little today. This evening I put it on my finger and throw it a couple of times. The third or fourth toss and the string breaks shooting the yo-yo across the room as I try an around the world trick. Okay. I grab the yo-yo, the packaging and the receipt to take back to the store. A little later I'm playing with a military grade L.E.D. flashlight. You know, shining it on random things... whatever. Spent the past couple of hours at Grand Prix Motorsports' Open House. I did not win the $50k giveaway, but I did win a free lifetime battery warranty. They are impatient with hierarchies and politics and would prefer that leaders prove their worth with merit, rather than with charisma and influence. As much as I want to argue the counterpoint to this article, I have to agree: if the dog is physically okay and not scared sh!tless from the ocean and as long as the owner keeps an eye on the dog to make sure s/he continues to be okay with surfing, why not? For the motorcyclists. I'm a huge fan of helmets and some people just don't understand the protections helmets afford. Granted, most of these people ride Hardley's and don't go fast enough to hurt themselves, but still, helmets are important. As an example, a friend of mine (a HD rider who thinks helmets are stupid) was hit by a car gooing 10MPH while he was going 15MPH through an intersection. He spent 2 weeks in head trauma ICU with massive facial reconstruction surgeries to include bone grafts, plastic surgeries and medications to help with mental issues stemming from that accident. Helmets are good for you and there is no reason to fight that.
