I read another article this morning regarding police brutality. In Utah a man had a single vehicle accident. When he called the police to report it the responding officer placed him under arrest for an outstanding warrant (for a traffic crime). He didn't resist. Instead, he merely asked he be handcuffed in front if his body so as not to damage a medical device attached to his spine. The officer cuffed him behind his back breaking the medical device in the process. Now the man cannot work, is in constant pain and the muscles in his leg are atrophying. When he filed a complaint the local police began harassing him. I have police in my family and in my friends. Believe me when I say I don't want to think of all cops as bad fruit, but it seems to me that most cops are bad fruit. George Zimmerman is a man who got away with murder. He did so because of an incompetent justice system and a broken law, not because if any inherent morality or strong ethical code. I recall reading an article a few years ago about Harley-Davidson's conundrum: strong loyal fanbase, but that very same loyalty preventing HD from innovating their product line. For example, the article spoke of the poor sales figures of the Z-Rod against traditionalists who didn't want to see the engine, chassis or any other design change. I have been told I'm my own worst critic and usually receive positive, if not at least constructive, feedback -- but I've also read a lot of work that honestly needed negative reviews. Some people, I've noticed, are very good about ignoring other's opinions. I'm not that guy. I obsess, even when it's positive. It's between 2 and 2:30am here. There's nothing as much fun as waking up to the neighbors having another fight. At first it was so loud I thought maybe it was neighbors on the north side but when I called the police to have them on the phone with my while I went outside to investigate I learned it was neighbors on the south side. Of course, the police showed about 10 seconds after it got quiet. Luckily the dispatch lady heard it through the phone before I even opened my front door.

Somewhere in the middle of the first season I read an article about the 'best shows you're not watching.' One night with nothing else to do I turned it on and became hooked on Veronica Mars. For a year or two I'd hoped another network would pick the show up but no one ever did (probably some legal rights mumbo jumbo).
