I'm going camping this weekend, peeps! It was a last minute decision and I should have been out the door already but I was sucked into a debate about beards. Eegads! The interwebz is gone! On Monday morning the internet worked fine (where I live) and then sometime in the afternoon (around 3PM, maybe) it went dark. All I know is it worked in the morning and then didn't when I came home. Since the interwebz is in my roommate's name I waited for her to get home and call the ISP: Dish Network, which is a reseller of Century Link here in Colorado.  According to her conversation with Dish Network, even though the internet went down mid-day, they were unable to find cause remotely and must instead send a (Century Link)  tech out to the house even though there were three techs in the neighborhood on Monday and Century Link is rolling out fiber to the neighborhood which could mean they disconnected a pair at the end of the street or cut a copper bundle or something. Saw and old Chevy wagon in the parking lot this morning while I was out walking the dogs. Of course I didn't have my Pentax on me, but I did have my Note II.  I took two pictures because the dogs kept pulling on their leashes. Sweet delicious chunky chocolate chip cookies. Yum. Better yet, sweet delicious, moist, Costco chunky chocolate chip cookies. Great for the taste buds and terrible for the waistline. But I couldn't help myself. Costco has a current rebate on their glorious cookies at $1.50 off retail pricing. And I loved them. Every single one of them: with milk, without milk, as the heat of the mid-day Sun melted the chocolate chunks and the cool counter-top air kept them solid. Costco bakery cookies are some of the best manufactured cookies in these United States and I have to force myself not to buy them every time I go into the store. Yeah, self-discipline is a bitch. However, with the discount, even at only $1.50 off their normal price, I caved in and bought a package of 24 large chocolaty bliss -- and had a couple on the drive home. No, I'm not Irish -- I'm American. At the festival I met an honest-to-goodness Irish lady, straight off the boat from the Emerald Isle. When I told her I wasn't Irish, she immediately asked where I was from. "Florida," I replied. No, where's you're family from?  "Illinois." At some point, I said I was just a plain ol' American Mutt. A friend of mine volunteered at the festival and they gave her a couple of free tickets for friends and family which she gave to me. I had Google+ set up s that under certain conditions (ie: I was tagged) I would receive an email n Gmail. I also had it set up that I could respond to the email and have the post in G+ updated as well. I'm not seeing the Gmail replies updating Google+ posts anymore. I then went to Account settings and couldn't find that setting anymore (to verify it was still set). Did Google do away with the reply from Gmail setting? That was one of my favorite tools. Overheard: one woman telling another woman how to 'beat' a child protective services inspection. Such notable lines as: "...every time I have a kid they want to take it away..." "...why can't a 6 year old girl sleep with her older brother? He's only 14..." "...make sure your kids sleep in different beds, CPS hates it when kids sleep in the same bed..."
