I've said it before and I'll say it again: Microsoft isn't collecting anything about you that Google, Yahoo, Apple - everyone - is already collecting about you and for much the same reasons.

Want to use Cortana? Great. But you have to let Microsoft look at your search history and your emails, the same as Google Now does.

Want better autocorrection? Cool. But you have to let Microsoft look at your keystrokes: just like Google, Apple and a gazillion keyboard Apps for Android.

Want to use OneDrive, Office 360 or OneNote? Fantastic, but Microsoft needs to be able to read and write your files, which requires another permission.

The way technology is these days it's hypocritical to condemn Microsoft for the same practices the other major players are operating under every single day.

It's not that Microsoft is doing what everyone else hasn't been doing since day one.  What get me is that Microsoft has been shitting all over everyone else for doing the very same thing they themselves have been working on for Windows 10.

Remember the Scroogled campaign?  They were acting all shocked and disgusted that Gmail scans your emails.  Yeah, that's why everyone's jumping as MS now.

MS needs to start including useful descriptions with the updates.

Dmitriy Briskin, I haven't seen a single article talking about the double standard or hypocrisy of Microsoft in regards to "scroogled" and Win10. It is a good point, but no one seems that overly concerned with pointing out the change in direction for Microsoft as compared to their previous marketing campaign. Most, like this article addresses, are people complaining about non-existent issues, or at least issues that are commonplace with every other tech company but seems to be an issue when Microsoft does it.

Personally, I'm loving Win10. It's a nice blend between native and cloud OS.

Jason ON I hate to admit it, but I'm liking Win10 so far.  Family account management features are just so nice.
