This is what happens when you keep telling people that if only someone with a gun had been around.

The car jackers should be charged with attempted murder for the owner getting shot while they were in the commission of the crime.

Not even a little, Lorne Thomas. The carjackers brought no weapons and threatened no one's life. The so-called "good Samaritan" did all that just fine on his own.

The shooting would not have happened if e car jackers hadn't committed a crime so the responsibility should be on them.
Jason ON said…
The shooting would not have happened if not for a number of factors, such as Texas being filled with a bunch of wanna be vigilantes.

Let's hold the criminal responsible for all repercussions of their actions. Let's not protect criminals, or reward criminal activity.
Jason ON said…
And the criminals should be held accountable for their actions. In this case, the car jackers to be held for car jacking and the gun toting jackass for attempted murder.
Lorne Thomas said…
Get the car jackers for the attempted murder as well because if they hadn't committed the crime, the secondary offense would not have happened. Any thing else is just empowering criminals in a state where people are armed.

Might as go after the car owner, then. Had he not been there with a vehicle the jackers wanted then the whole thing wouldn't have gone down.
Lorne Thomas said…
The car owner was not committing a crime. His actions did not start a nasty chain reaction. Your logic is infantile.
Jason ON said…
No it's not. Had the case owner not been there the crime wouldn't have happened thus it was all his fault.

And it's not my logic, it's yours. You're the one who claims that the mere act of the car jackers being there necessitated the armed response by an untrained gun toting Texas moron resulting in the critical injuries of the vehicle owner.

You are simple minded at best and lack the maturity for rational thought.

I'm fairly certain, of the two of us, you're the one who's more simple of mind, Lorne Thomas. Two separate crimes were committed. To hold one party accountable for the actions of another based on circumstance is illogical and places the blame elsewhere.

So Jason ON, do you support gun control? Because that is the same argument pro gun people use. Or might it just be a case of when it is convenient, you will use it?

A criminal should be held accountable for all damages incurred as a result of the commission of a crime, what ever form they may take.
Jason ON said…
No, I don't support gun control. I support firearms education and training.

I do not believe that someone should be tried for a crime s/he didn't commit. Such policies are not a deterrent and only serve to pad the pockets of for-profit prison systems.
