Today marks the 68th anniversary of the founding of the United States Air Force​ on September 18, 1947.  It was a momentous event that over six decades later has demonstrated the achievement of an Air Force second-to-none. Isn't that a picture of a navy aircraft?
Actually I knew it was. The Hornet isn't even operated by the US Air Force if I recall correctly. The foldable wings is clue to that. Needed in the tight spaces of an aircraft carrier.

You would think the Institute for veterans and families would know that. Or I am being too picky?
