_“If our leaders seek to conceal the truth, or we as people become accepting of alternative realities that are no longer grounded in facts, then we as American citizens are on a pathway to relinquishing our freedom,” _ ~ Rex Tillerson, 2018

It seems the further away some people get from #DonaldTrump the more interested they are in the an actual truth and not Trump's idea of truth. Rex Tillerson had a history of butting heads with the president's version of reality and it seems he's not holding back on his admonishment of everything DonaldTrump stands for.

In #TrumpNation the truth needs an ambassador.

Jason ON I was not aware Trumpistan had a diplomatic envoy tasked to Truth. Also, I imagine Tillerson had some inkling of Trump’s character when he took the job, so a measured statement like this suggests the ‘alternate facts’ brigade was working overtime.

Bob Lai I don't know Tilerson's and Trump's relationship pre-election. What I do know is that, unlike Obama, Trump didn't fill his cabinet with experts and scholars, but instead decided to pull from business and military channels. Maybe he knew Tillerson, maybe they were merely in a small club of billionaires and had an acquaintanceship. What I do know is that while I may disagree with Tillerson on many issues, while he was in the State Dept., he seemed to be a stand-up guy who tried to do the right thing even when his boss was being an idiot. And if nothing else, that says something about the man's character.
