He was engaged to Cynthia Kelley, a former juror from that trial.. (the civil suit)

Doubting foul play.  There's no motive, unless he was up to something we don't know about.  Probably a heart attack while swimming.

I saw his stay on Celebrity Rehab and Sober House. That man had demons, and alcohol just about ruined his life. He lived in pain, but he wanted peace. I believe he fought his way to sobriety and had a lot he was looking forward to. This news saddens me, and my thoughts go out to his family and children on this Father's Day.
Rodney King was not a perfect person...but neither am I. The few words that he spoke after the riots began are powerful in their simplicity.
