WORLD’S LARGEST SOLAR POWERED BOAT

The world’s largest solar-powered boat, PlanetSolar’s Turanor, is about to finish its record-breaking 18-month journey across the globe. The ship’s deck is covered with 537 square meters of photovoltaic panels, which produced enough energy for the boat to travel the entire circumference of the Earth with no need for additional sources of energy.

This is an awesome demonstration of the power of renewable energy. Not once did the ship break down or succumb to any technical difficulties.

The overall speed will improve as solar cell tech improves and helps them generate more power.
