They're gonna keep it up until it really does turn into Resident Evil.

Yes and scientists also tag antibodies, DNA and RNA outside of the body as well.
All the cool cell and neuron pictures you see are made using fluorescent tagged antibodies.

Cory Westgate and Pam Adger hit the nail on the head. The most recent "big news" I can recall on the subject was a kickstarter ( first quarter'ish of '13) trying to make seeds for a luminescent plant main stream. The plan died as they openly stated shooting jellyfish DNA into a seed is batting a thousand.

This subject is when I fall off the fence of genetics. There is no applicable reason to do this.

Nate Taylor transgenics is the reason to do that. They continue to move up the animal kingdom...being able to splice genes from other species into the pig's DNA is proof of concept...they will try something more complex than Jellyfish next...it just won't look cool.

Back on the fence, lol...
Kinda my point Pam Adger
Many benefits can be had, also many many failures. A nightlight plant or pig is just silly and gimmicky. All this will do is get the geeks excited for no reason and scare off the ignorant.

The proper scientific method states only change one variable at a time. They will keep the jellyfish as they change species because to change the jellyfish genes and the species...they cannot accurately determine what is the cause of a success or a failure. Once they complete the testing using the Jellyfish gene...they will start with another higher gene. Unfortunately science takes time.
Yeah scientists get a bad rap for doing "pointless experiments" but they are expanding our understanding of the universe and through that opening doors no one even knew existed. They may not even understand the application of their research, but someone else might see it and put two and two together with some other idea. And suddenly, blam: you have antibiotics, etc.

See? This is a nice intelligent conversation. No name calling and no belittling.

Jason ON did you expect name calling? I'm not the name calling type. I would have muted and moved on...

No, Pam Adger. I'm in another + conversation where once I disagreed with the original poster I was called names, belittled and then blocked before I could respond. It just so happened to pop up in notifications right before this one did and I was a little irked.

Jason ON there seems to be a couple of people in our tribe who do that. I'm sorry that happened.
