#HarleyDavidson dropped the V-Rod because it wasn't a large seller. Why wasn't it a large seller? Because the bike was everything a Harley brand lover hated: it was liquid-cooled, German (Porsche) built engine, not the proper aesthetic and so on. Do the head guys over there actually believe they'll sell an electric bike?

I don't think they thought that completely through..... I think it would be a cool streetfighter, but not many Harley Davidson fans will, and not many people that are willing to pay the Harley Davidson premium.......

Yes. Because the market is not being served.

If the price is right, you've got 2 or 3 sales right here.

Hd has the luxury to experiment with niche market. I actually like the v-rod but the e-bike makes sense in where american (and generally 1st world) market is headed in terms of environmental concerns.

I think it's a good idea if Harley-Davidson can create a persona about the new electric that differentiates them from the rest of the pack. Above all they better have a substantially tougher power plant and product support with plenty of spare parts already in stock for quick turnaround for the customer. You don't get a 2nd chance to create a first impression. If they get a bad name right off the bat, they'll never turn it around.
