Do you prefer one movie house over another, or are you a fan of all the comics-to-film offerings? I thoroughly enjoyed BvS, not so much Justice League and while I have thus far enjoyed nearly all Marvel Entertainment films, #GotG2 was not my favorite by far.

I think the reason I enjoy Marvel movies more is simply that, in my opinion, they're more character driven. Marvel Studios takes the time to develop the characters, whether they're the Black Widow getting a few extra moments of backstory in Age of Ultron or the very real contest of loyalties portrayed in Civil War. DCEU, on the other hand, seems to be going for more splash and pizzaz, such as we saw in *Justice League_. But the largest problems I've seen so far in #DCEU movies is their tendancy to have an extremely large build up to a lackluster finale. Batman v Superman, for example had a wonderful story that really only makes sense once you realize Lex Luthor (1) knew both Batman and Superman's secret identities, (2) orchestrated the two of them into hating each other and (3) setting them loose upon one another. And while many people were upset over the whole (some might say, lack of) "fight" between Bats and Supes, the real versus was in ideologies between the two. Batman, punishing the criminals versus Superman giving hope the mankind.

Regardless, the title fight was lackluster (let's face it, if Superman took his gloves off Batman wouldn't stand a chance) and the "boss fight" at the end, where Lex Luther sets upon the world a doomsday, while better, didn't really have the emotional oomph the comics had when Doomsday killed Superman. In film we'd only just met Superman. We didn't really have an emotional attachment to the character - those of us not huge fans, anyway - and so his death didn't really mean anything to us. DCEU, in my opinion rushed the narrative for the "shock and awe" of Superman's demise to the uninitiated. They did the same with Justice League. Batman pulling together a team was decent story building, but the rush to resurrect Superman shouldn't have happened in that movie.

Had I control, I would have had the fledgling League properly defeated by Steppenwulf (seriously stupid name for an alien invader, by the way). Trounced, they retreat to the Batcave, or wherever, and the movie ends with them wondering what they can do to defeat such an enemy. Then, a series of films that build upon each other, each keeping the narrative of Darkseid is coming: Superman (returns), who is he, where does he fall in the world; Aquaman, back in Atlantis faces the political coup and takes his place as King; the Flash, discovering more of his powers and something; Cyborg, coming to terms with his new existence; WonderWoman, returning to Thymascara for answers and guidance against Steppenwulf only to learn he is merely a herald of Darseid; and the Batman, taking down the Joker while searching for answers about how to repel Steppenwulf. Each of these movies would only have to take place over a handful of days.

Yes, this follows what Marvel's been doing, but it works and it's how these stories have been portrayed in comic books for decades. It's a tried and true formula. Sure, DC would have taken flack for copying Marvel's program but if you tell a better story you'll generally be forgiven.
