Really Google? Quit fucking with and or killing things that work and people like and use. "Don't be evil", remember that?

Google Fit works perfectly well. It has been updated.

I have Google Fit on my phone but haven't tried using it to track anything yet. Maybe I'll try it today.

I thought Google Fit did not use GPS. When I track my walking I guess I like having the GPS component.

It does. :)
You can add your activities, have a graph that shows the altitude range of your route, map etc

Any photos you take during your route, will show up in your private timeline on Google maps.

What about exporting? I tried it while out walking the dogs dummies earlier and (1) couldn't delete the recording and (2) couldn't find a way to export it to MyMaps or Drive or anywhere.

I love Google's spirit of innovation and experimentation, but the fact that they later abandon many of the experiments that have gained traction in the user-verse can be really frustrating.

I think Google doesn't give that option. I checked in the Settings the "connected apps" and Drive and MyMaps are not there. Unless you can use another app in order to export your data. I don't know anything about that though. Personally, I 'm fine with the fact that both graphs and maps show up inside the Fit interface. :)
