I wonder .

I wonder ... Will Texas let the market take care of it? I'm sure some billionaire with great tax breaks will pay for this out of pocket, right? That's "trickle down."

A lot of the giant oil companies here in Houston foot the bill for local parks and STEM programs in the public schools as well as funding for all kinds of cancer research and many charitable non-profit ventures. They also tend to be the biggest sponsors for public events in the community. I'm not sure an individual would want to pay for state buildings, but I wouldn't put it past one of the bigger companies to pitch in, especially if we start using American oil again soon. This is the first city I've lived in where I actually saw the trickle down. I moved here from Los Angeles and rarely saw the large corporations handing out the kind of money for the local community like I do here.
