One thing the Apple Watch will never do that an Android Wear device just might do is go on my wrist.

The apple watch does support NFC payments.  That's about the only new thing it does though.  I'm sure at some point someone will make an android wear device with NFC payments though.

Scott Wilson  It is true, there is much more online shopping, but there are still many instances of paying at a brick & mortar site (i.e. starbucks, restaurant, or groceries).  I still use my debit card 1-3 times a day.  I also don't have access to Google Express though, and I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay for same-day delivery of groceries anyways since the grocery store is right down the street.

I don't think NFC payments is a huge feature on a watch, I can easily pull out my phone to pay still, but it is one thing the apple watch can do that android wear doesn't right now.

Scott Wilson I certainly understand that, but I also know there are many people who would prefer/have time/would save money going to the store themselves to pay, so I don't think this is a step backwards, but a very minor step forward for secure payments.
