Vegetable prices may be going up soon, as a shortage of migrant workers is resulting in lost crops in California.

So I'm wondering where the unemployed are? Don't they want jobs just above minimum wage with benefits?

In many states, getting this kind of a job will cut your family's benefits by more than the job will pay.

You guys do know that farms and ranches are generally located in rural areas, right?
I sure do. I live in northern Californian and know that farms are centrally located in the state. Still, if regular folks are unemployed in the area, why aren't they applying for these vacant jobs?

Do you have evidence that unemployed people in the area of these farms and ranches haven't been applying for these jobs? Or that there are even any unemployed people in these areas?
Nope just thinking out loud. After all, most Americans believe illegals are taking their jobs away when in reality Americans don't want the jobs illegals had.
