Poor Blackberry.

Poor Blackberry. I was kind of hoping for a comeback kid story on this one. They really do make great hardware and I thought about getting that z10 recently when I didn't think my Note II was going to survive.

It amazing how titans fall so fast
It was foreseeable for years that they would go down because Blackberry never was about the devices. The devices were only a way to use the Blackberry (hosted) services. When Microsoft introduced mobile access and push mail in Exchange Server (that was almost 10 years ago already) and companies were becoming wary of the privacy/security concerns of having their corporate mails routed through Blackberry's server infrastructure, their fate was already sealed. Blackberry Enterprise Server as a stand-alone product was becoming superfluous when other mail/groupware servers integrated that functionality, or hosted cloud services like Google's Apps offering became available.
