Have I mentioned lately how much I hate Google Maps?

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate Google Maps? As I just tried to add a location marker to an image here in Google+Photos, the maps just started scrolling along not letting me stop the scrolling, place a marker or anything at all. The only way to stop it from moving out of state and across the globe was to click "cancel" and try again.

Guess what happened when I tried again? That's right, it did the exact same friggin thing.

Google should have kept Reader and retired Maps, it's obviously a POS whereas reader was useful.

I tried and tried to save a map that I had altered for my ride yesterday to get the best roads. I planned on transferring that map to my phone so I could use as a gps and use my earbuds. No flippin way would that altered route save. I wasted a bunch of time trying ti create my own from scratch and never did get the ride I was hoping for. Had a slightly new adventure though ... not necessarily a good one. Lol. I least I got to ride so that much I accomplished. I was so mad at Google maps though so I share your frustration.

Julie Desilets, this is actually a continuation of a post I made over the weekend: http://jasonisms.blogspot.com/2013/09/google-maps-strikes-again.html

Sorry...haven't been keeping up to date...I'll rewind lol

No, it's fine, I just wanted to make sure you understood this isn't just an out of the blue rant. ;)

Ok..I read it and went through the EXACT same thing. I even tried mapquest but that proved useless as well. There's gotta be SOMETHING out there that's a useful mapping tool for motorcyclists! !!

Tracking a current ride is easy with Mytracks on Android, but creating a route is impossible.

Oh I love Mytracks....but it doesn't tell me how to get where I'm going so I don't get lost or run out of gas in the middle of nowhere. Lol.
I'm now motivated to do a mass search. If I find anything decent I will share.

I was just thinking about randmcnally.com. I haven't used that in nearly a decade, but when I did it was easier to use than GMaps.

Hmmm thanks. I'll check that out.
