So you need ID to open a bank account, buy a car, get a library book, get a passport, and in California you will need it to buy ammunition, but you don't need it to prove your eligibility to vote? That is just backwards, how do you prevent voter fraud? How exactly does it discriminate?
Lorne Thomas Haven't read the article, but I assume it's too high a bar since you have no national or state, government ID.

The US has National ID as well as all states have ID Douglas McMillan so what are you going on about?
Lorne Thomas Seems not everyone has it.

Who doesn't have a drivers license? Driving without a license is a crime in all states and in Washington, D.C.

The US has a national ID? When did that happen?

Passport, Military ID, ICE ID, TSA ID, Passport Card, the list goes on and on. What world do you live on, oh ya I forgot, political propaganda and talking point world.

A "national ID card" implies it's something required by law to be obtained by all citizens. All those you listed are either (a) employee IDs or (b) voluntary. Or both.

There you go again with your ignorance. An ID issued by the federal government or one of it's agencies is legal proof of Identification. Such an ID is recognized across boarders with in the US and it's territories as well as being recognized by foreign governments that the US has relations with.

You really have no idea what you're talking about, do you? Not a single one of those qualifies as in-state ID. Voting rules are determined by the state. And foreign nationals can get passports or military IDs.

You are still showing your naiveté because I all ready stated the State ID. Are you pushing for a single National ID along with the National Police Force that is being hinted at?
... and blocked for being obtuse.

Good for you, Douglas McMillan. Lorne likes to embarrass himself publicly. I think he gets off on humiliation.

Hold on Jason ON , you are saying that you are in favor of a national ID to trump all states ID's and the 10th amendment, right?
