Traditionally, Amish and Mennonites don't let kids join until they're old enough to understand their choice. Baptists used to do the same, but that's sort of fallen by the wayside.

I used to attend a Baptist church and one of the things they believed in was that a person couldn't agree to be baptized until they were old enough to understand what it meant. So you couldn't get baptized before twelve in that church.
That's literally the defining feature of Anabaptist (Amish and Mennonite) and Baptist belief. Baptism of the believer as opposed to infant baptism.

My dad had us baptized (Catholic) as infants. Having dated catholics, I've been to many a Baby Drowning Ceremony.
