I don't know if any of you Star Trek fans out there have seen this or not.

I don't know if any of you Star Trek fans out there have seen this or not. William Shatner travels the globe to talk to everyone who played a Star Trek captain in the series' and movies.

It is a good documentary

Yup saw it. Pretty good all considered. Avery Brooks was really emitting the "crazy jazz" vibe, but some of the conversations were quite insightful. Sir Patrick is always a highlight.

My friend, a strong Star Trek fan, said about Avery Brooks, "Geesh, he's acting like he's high."

I responded with, "A lot of those old jazz guys act like that when they're playing their music. ;)
Outstanding and totally Awesome!!!

I recorded it on the DVR from some channel high up in the channel count. Have you tried Netflix or a local library? Or the Google PLay store: https://play.google.com/store/movies/details/The_Captains?id=LY_P2SUBARM

This is awesome. I can't believe I never heard of this and I follow Shatner on Twitter. Thank you for sharing. I'm going to try Amazon.

cheapest place to catch it is netflix
Amazon prime has it. Possibly available on youtube
Jesse Cohen said…
For all those asking, the full length documentary is available to stream on Amazon (The Captains 2011), free if you have Prime. Or else it can be purchased there too, but also try your local video store, especially if it is one with a "Star Trek" devoted section. Libraries would also be a option. And there is always the piecemeal YT method.
I caught it on both Netflix and Amazon. Of course if its on Amazon you can also purchase it.
Adam Zagursky on Amazon its free for Prime members and of course if you subscribe to Netflix and you can see it 24 /7
Adam Zagursky that's great for Comcast customers.

Saw it on Netflix, Excellent piece!

WTF happened to Avery Brooks? Did he just check out of reality when he sits down at a piano? Or, is he just out-of-it?
I was just watching this on SyFy on Friday night! Thanks for posting it!

Pot.   Lots and lot of pot.  Though I have to say the scene of Shatner & Pine arm-wrestling makes the whole show worth it right there.
Adam Zagursky you just said that it was on Comcast so that's a great thing, lol.
Brandon Horwath pretty typical for jazz musicians when they play. I've seen many just go into another zone.
