What the ever-loving-F* is wrong with some people?

What the ever-loving-F* is wrong with some people? What compels them to go to a school, a movie theater or a club and just start shooting people at random?

My sympathies go out to all who were affected by this act of violence. One would think, in a civilized world, things like this wouldn't happen.

Hannah Yeboah. Study your history and you will see there has been more killings under the name of religion than for any other reason. While you're at it, read your Bible and count how many killings your God has done. You just admitted knowing this to be true with your statement.

John McGarvey Yes you are right, God gives and this same God takes, So you as a human, what can you say?
He is the alpha and Omega. Remember the law of Karma. Remember this is not new and not news. John,Jeremiah and so forth prophecies about this and Jesus Christ of Nazareth told us the signs of the end time, so better repent to save your soul.
After all there is Judgement.

Humanity is the root of all evil. Religion just gave some people justification for being so.

That being said, I haven't seen anything yet about this shooter being religiously motivated.

I have seen a couple articles about the Santa Monica situation, but as of yet, no one has claimed there is a connection aside from coincidence.

Anthony DiRuggiero, I'm seeing a lot of speculation, not fact, in that article.

Jason ON is right. Violence existed long before we invented religion. It'll be with us even if we were to abandon religion.Religion just rationalizes hatred.

Are you so simple that you can't fathom that this was an act of terrorism committed by a fundamentalist who swore allegiance to ISIS?

This has nothing to do with a civilized world and every thing to do with a war that has been declared against all who are not devoutly following the principles and interpretations of the Muslim faith that ISIS operates under.
It was by an assole who associated, or at least sympathized, with a whole bunch of other assholes and hurt a whole bunch of innocent people, and their loved ones.

Motherfucker.

There you go jumping to conclusions again, Lorne Thomas. Per the shooter's father, this wasn't a religiously motivated incident, but one of homophobia: http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/orlando-nightclub-massacre/terror-hate-what-motivated-orlando-nightclub-shooter-n590496

As for his "pledge to ISIS." I've read two versions, thus far. In the first, he called 911 (which can probably be proven) to declare allegiance to the Islamic State. In the second, he actually did pledge allegiance to them.

Do you see the difference? One is alleged while the other is a statement of fact. Facts can be verified, or else they're not facts. So, until the Orlando Police Department releases the 911 call and can prove he actually did make a swearing of allegiance, then it's an alleged statement.

The second part of this is the alleged pledge of devotion to ISIS. So ...?

ISIS has already publicly claimed he was not in communication with them (although they do support his act of terror).

This was clearly an act of terror, although proving it an act of terrorism will be much harder. Terrorism, by definition, must have a political motivation or else it's merely an act of terror.

Chances are, this is an act of homophobia. Why attack a gay nightclub otherwise? If it's true that he saw men kissing in Miami, and with the LGBQ victories across the country, the fearmongering by the Right (which is prevalent in Florida. Remember, they did elect Rubio and Scott), then he was targeting the gay nightclub as a personal affront rather than a political statement on behalf of ISIS.

But, more information will be forthcoming as the days proceed. Maybe they'll find a secret journal; maybe his MySpace page will be filled with homophobic posts; maybe his Twitter will he homages to Dan Johnson of Texas.

The truth of the matter is, we don't know a whole lot right now. As more information is discovered we'l get a clearer picture of why he did this.

I'm still betting on homophobia.

Jason ON I am surprised at your insistence of facts given that you do have a history of going off on tangents and believe every thing that you read in a political editorial as fact. But at least your thin grasp of the english language still holds up and you don't understand what you read.

Your phobia about conservatives and denial of the threat of terrorism posed by ISIL is quite apparent.

You sir, are a very poor example of a liberal. So what are you then?
Jason ON said…
Again, you go off making assumptions. That seems to be your only mode of action.
