I used to race a Zook SV-650 & a Yamaha R6. The R6 was a very nice step up from the Zook, with loads more power & sharp handling. It's no surprise to me that the R6 is mopping up on the track; it is a very formidable track weapon. I think that for mere mortals, as the article indicated, the 600 is "just right" when it comes to track prowess, while the liter-class bikes are a bit much. Of course, none of that matters on the street, where liter-class bikes with their abundance of torque make more sense.
