Personally, I like the hand over hand.

The sideways V makes me think of Brainiac (https://bold.pixelapse.com/minming/share-the-icon-no-one-agrees-on) and the boxes with an arrow make me think email, not universal sharing.

The one depicted below is too close to the Ubuntu logo to be universal, as well. (https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1486153713/cof_orange_hex_400x400.jpg)

My Surface Pro (Purch. early 2013) running windows 8.1 pro that ICON is SHARE with a twist it behaves more like the old "CNTRL-ALT-PRNT SCRN" which copied the screen shot to the clip board, But this botton does that and then will post to a social media or "ONE NOTE" which looks like the old "NOTE PAD" or "WORD" program.
lmfao!!! the "charms bar". exactly how much crack was that design team literally snorting when they came up with that, along with the "hot corners", and that craptastic tile-mess of a "start screen"!?!?! oh, & let's not forget the fact that suddenly people couldn't close an app and the only way to switch apps was hitting Alt-Tab over & over til you found what you wanted. SMFH! if it ain't broken... hey let's reinvent it & totally eff everything up!! yay!!! /s
