I count 41 but have always had a keen eye for colour.

This seems unlikely because our monitors can only reproduce trichromatic colours. It's more likely you're distinguishing based on contrast, which is exactly the point of changing gamma settings when playing games.
I was at 36, but screens always make me suspicious of colour perception tests.

Yeah I counted 35 one time and 38 or something the other. I don't like yellow but it doesn't annoy me. And I saw the dress as white and gold. And you know what... I am suspicious of this test because it claims only 25% people will have that "fourth cone" yet everyone I've seen who responded to it saw more than 32 colors. Funny how only 25% are supposed to be able to see more and yet so far everyone I've seen who has seen this article manages to have a fourth cone.

Alastair McGowan-Douglas Huh.. that might explain why everyone is able to see all the colors. I just thought the whole thing was a bunch of hogwash honestly.
I can see three pairs of colours I can't distinguish but a) I'm colour blind and b) this monitor probably sucks.

I totally agree, Alastair McGowan-Douglas. This isn't a real eye test. ;)
Like Lise Bjerregaard Nielsen said I don't trust the reproduction on the screen, but I see hundreds of variations of tones!
In each band I can see even more graduation in color. Similar to a pantone chart. Just in the purple to pink I counted eighteen distinct color shifts. If I zoom in to each tone I can see even more distinct bands of color.
I don't think I can! Color picker can do millions. Supposedly the human eye can detect millions of color variations. I can see a lot, but I don't think I can see millions. My friend CJ might, he is an artist.
