Do let me get this straight: drug companies bribe FDA officials to make a drug approved and then the SCotUS declares that once a drug is approved drug companies cannot be held liable for their side-effects and reactions?

Did you read the linked-to article? My post is a comment about the article, specifically about how the SCotUS guaranteed the profitability of large pharma.

Well, Juan Schwartz, the SCotUS just declared that people cannot sue for restitution, drug companies whose drugs have been approved by the FDA, as a result of those drugs causing harm to an individual or groups of people. 

It is a known fact that drug companies have bribed FDA officials to either fast track or otherwise approve drugs without the proper quality assurance testing. http://goo.gl/qj58P

Not just drugs either. The history of Aspartame likewise makes for interesting reading.

Nevertheless, this decision is very much in line with this Court's track record. Frightening, really, as the threat of class-action lawsuits is about the only check on corporate malfeasance that we have left.
