Today is July 15. Eighteen years ago today I stepped into the U.S. Army and Basic Combat Training, also known as Basic, or Basic Training.

Eighteen years! Damn, I'm getting old.

I know the feeling well. Both being fat and feeling old... and it's a bit brutal to know that retirement check would becoming in soon if you had stayed in ;)
