That photograph is really, really, really disingenuous.

That 2000 years ago the Romans were building great cities and coliseums, water ducts and sewers; and in African today most people still live in grass huts.

Pretty fantastic resolution for a 2000 year old camera. They don't make em like that anymore... wait...
I've got a theory about that.
I think that's because in the past (Ice Age) we Europeans need to scavenge for food and were fighting for survival. During that time all people in Africa just had food and stuff around. They didn't have to do a lot to get it unlike the Europeans. We needed to fight for it to stay alive...that's why we're a bit more developed compared to Africa.

Jason ON I do stay in Africa and the whole issue must be appreciated in context..from plundering of resource by western nations to slave trade blah blah blah..the fact that i was one of the first users on Google Plus in Africa on an android device on a 3g network should tell you something yes we have our own problems but you must understand the whole picture before making blanket assumptions

Using your hypothesis Gerben van Erkelens, then the Africans would have had more spare time to create more cities, art and philosophy.
Yup, but they became lazy because the weather was good, food was all around....why would they :D

Kevin Omondi, I do understand the history and the social-economics that keep most of Africa a 3rd world nation. I just thought the picture showed situation very accurately.
