How many people does it take to have an agreement?

How many people does it take to have an agreement? Conventional wisdom says two, for an agreement with just one party isn't an agreement, but today I heard it takes but one person to have an agreement because you can, apparently, agree with yourself.

I'm still not sure that constitutes an agreement, but my manager seems to think so.

Thoughts?

It's very common for us to have disagreements with ourselves. It's also very common for those disagreements to go unacknowledged, which can lead to cognitive dissonance. Bringing about true inner agreement is often quite difficult task.
