Phone's telling me I"m out of storage space and that I need to delete files or the phone may stop working properly. So, I delete a couple gigs worth of things just to be sure. No bueno. Still the threat persists. So, I open my file manager and look at the internal memory ... it says I'm using 1.26GB of 32GB.

Well, that can't be right.

One app that I know has a bunch of large files on it won't show me the files so I can transfer them to the cloud. Their website says they "hide" the files so no one else can access them if the phone is lost, etc. Well, that's hunky-dory, but I have a space-issue here.

So, I go through the app (as opposed to file explorer) thinking I'll move the content one at a time. Suddenly, after two, the app I'm moving it to says those files types are not allowed.

Seriously? They're .WAV files! Going to Box.net where I have the "most" cloud storage available (about 50GB).

This is frustrating.

So, apparently Box won't take files over 250mb, or thereabouts. So, the larger files will have to get transferred via some other method.

Last ... Decemberish, I started "vlogging" my dog walks. It gave me a chance to work through some thoughts and put pen to paper so to speak. A few months later I was quickly running out of space on my HDD, my external HDD and my other external HDD, so I decided to switch from "vlogging" to just recording the audio since I was walking the same route every day and Rufus was dead so there was no need for video any longer.

I've been recording on my phone using the Parrot app, which is a great app, but each recording is 35 - 55 minutes, so 200mb - 300mb of space. And, apparently Parrot "hides" those files from discovery except through the Parrot app. And I can't batch upload. Gah!

I was thinking of uploading them all to Soundcloud or something but can't find if SC has a file size limit. Going through their FAQs now.

They do, but it's actually pretty high, 500MB. So, that's good.

All hail not-CenturyLink ISP!

I'm at a wifi hotspot and was able to upload gigsupon gigs of audio files fairly quickly. At home, where CenturyLink is the only provider, it would have taken days or even weeks.

Whatever you are using to record voice. Can you force it to save to SD in hopes of preventing a repeat scenario.

Nate Taylor it does have that option and I have since switched it over, so here's to hoping ... I kind of hoped it would move all the files over once I changed the save location, but it didn't.

Welp. Got me a rabbit hole to chase, lol.
They say they are "hidden" files outside of the app. I found the location and see zero files, even on a rooted phone/file browser. ADB shows the folder as empty also. The 'how are they doing that' is gonna drive me bonkers. 😀

Nate Taylor well, I'm glad I could give you something to look for.

You saw this, right?

Internal Storage: Located in a private folder within your device storage. This folder cannot be accessed by any apps except Parrot. This folder prevents access from unwanted parties such as malicious apps or other users on your device. Typically files in this folder are located at /data/data/com.SearingMedia.Parrott/files/parrot/.

Have you played with Files Go?

Thomas Tenkely I have and I've deleted just about everything on my device. After clearing many many many hours of the audio recordings yesterday and the gifs from Motion Stills, I was able to recover about 10gigs of space.
