Paul Ryan is putting forth the hypothesis that his subservience to the #DonaldTrump is actually a strategy to control the president's baser instincts and, in doing so, he has prevented untold tragedies.

Is he brave and self-sacrificing or is he trying to put a spin on his behavior so history doesn't call him a traitor to the Republic?

Since he's decided not to run for Senate again in #TrumpNation I'm inclined to believe the latter. If he was interested in curbing Trump's outbursts or basest instincts, he would fight for the American people, the #GOP and his district. But, that's not to say he won't as a civilian where he doesn't have to worry about Trump's fans calling him names or otherwise trolling him to the point his influence is useless.

I locked in on the word “tragedy.” It sets the mind reeling to whatever thwarted “tragedies” Ryan might be talking about. I asked for an example. “No, I don’t want to do that,” Ryan replied. “That’s more than I usually say.”

No, Speaker Ryan, you're the idiot who leaves a loaded gun in your nightstand thinking you're making your household safe and protecting your family ...

I think the more apt comparison would be hearing a noise in the middle of the night then giving a toddler a gun to protect the house.
