I wonder which God told Obama to abandon the region to the barbarians. It seems blatantly clear now packing up and leaving and worse, leaving weapons of war behind, was terrifyingly foolish. One can easily argue we shouldn't have invaded in the first place but once we established order leaving was ill advised. What a waste of blood and treasure. It's heartbreaking. It's the killing fields all over again. Anyone miss Mubarak yet? Anyone? I'm not a foriegn policy expert but wouldn't it be advisable to support leaders that support the USA over those that call for our distruction, subjugation and/or death? Oops, I think I went off topic. Born and raised in the Bible Belt. It is quite common for religious men(and women) to reference "speaking with the Lord" or "having a conversation with God" or some such rhetoric. What this means is they've spent a lot of time thinking it over and trying to do the right thing. The Godly thing. Not the easiest or cleanest or politically expedient thing, but the right thing. Or they could be pandering to the religious right, I dunno. I'll add that this election I think we'll see a shift away from religious rhetoric and more of a focus on small gov't Libertarian type ideas in the Republican party. Watch how Ted Cruz evolves over the next year or so.

When religious men and women talk about doing gods bidding, they really believe that shit and what they do is fucked up. Every. damn. time.

No matter how bad things get, no Iraqi is calling for the return of US troops. That's because two religious people, Bush and Blair, really screwed things up. Bush didn't even know what a Shi'ite was.

Libertarianism sounds great. Paul Bremer implemented it in Baghdad when he was running the joint. Who needs all those government services anyway? Now they feel blessed when they have running water.

I'm shutting down Google+ for the night and quite possibly for the weekend. Why? This stupid #gifwars thing people are so proud of. This Adam Black guy said he doesn't like gifs and now everyone is mass trolling him. Having been mass trolled like this I can relate to him easily enough. Have an opinion and the collective might of Google+'s lower class denizens jump on a bandwagon. I just saw a post where someone wanted to jump on board and had to get clarification she was tagging the proper Adam Black. She wasn't even connected to him ! Nor was she a part of the original discussion. She just wanted to follow the herd. When I called her out of it she claimed, "one gif doesn't make a troll." Perhaps not, but she's contributing to a larger troll effort. One straw doesn't break the camel's back, but thousands will. So, tonight, Google+ disgusts me. It probably will tomorrow as well. And possibly Sunday. I gave up Google+ for two months this spring
