Did you know I rode my motorcycle to Mexico a few years ago? Over 2800 miles roundtrip. I want to do this again.

Drug cartels are making the roads precarious. I suggest you really, really plan it.

Jaime Gorman, we were talking and I mentioned his English was fantastic which led to him telling me about living in Salt Lake. I asked him why he was back in podunk Mexico (Buenaventura, specifically) and he said they deported him after his prison sentence. Naturally I asked why was in prison and got the story.

Apparently, according to him, he and his wife were walking somewhere in SLC when they were jumped. IN defending himself and his wife he killed one of his attackers. He went to prison and he was deported after his time was served.

I was stopped by the Mexican military twice and a federali once. otherwise most people were friendly and helpful when we could communicate. I don't speak an ounce of Spanish.

And my back getting messed up and getting stuck in the Mexican desert after sundown (a big no-no) and coming around a corner at 60mph only to see the pavement disappear and it become a dirt road. My battery also died at one point and I had to get a jump to get it going and buy a new batter in Hermosillo.

Pretty safe crossing below Yuma. Just have to avoid Jurez and San Diego...too much bad stuff going down there.

I entered in Juarez and exited at Nogales, MX.

And yes, Paul Rosen, if everything goes right it's not an adventure. :D
