When was the last time you saw ethanol free gasoline?

I put some in the bike just to see if there was a difference.

It's available here in Central Florida..expensive and only 90 octane. Some folks swear by it.

T. Starks I think this was 87 octane. I haven't noticed a noticeable difference but it's only been a mile or so since I loaded up.

Also, what part of CFL are you from? I grew up in "central" Florida.

Not hard to find in East Metropolitan Atlanta. 90 octane. A must for lawn mowers and outdoor power equipment. I run it in the Concours just because I can!

I filled my Gold Wing with ethanol-free gas years ago, made it a quarter mile before fuel pump died. It was already clicking, ready to go, but the timing was suspicious.

I'll see your ethanol free gasoline, & raise you 100LL av-gas. Don't try if your bike has a cat, as the "LL" part of the designation means "low lead."

I have ethanol free local at 87 octane, and near me I can get 90 ethanol free called recreational fuel (boat atvs ect..) I only run ethanol free in mowers and get it for the ZZR when I can. Location western KY

My last ride to western NC., I came across a few places that had separate pumps for ethanol free gas. You typically had one choice of octane and it was priced about the same as super-unleaded. I doubt you would see much of a performance gain but you would probably get more miles or of that tank.

I don't understand all the negativity to ethanol?
Ethanol allows increase compression with out detonation.
Cooler running
Reduces carbon build up

Michael Meyer, unless your fuel system is designed for it, ethanol causes corrosion. Also, it has a lot less energy density than gasoline, so you have to compensate for that via "fat" jetting or EFI settings. Yes, you can run a lot more boost with it, so there's that, but if you don't have a boosted system, the benefits are dubious.
That is the best gas to run because it burns hotter than ethanol.. Ethanol traps dirt & water inside of it to where as non ethanol doesn't.. That means a cleaner burn for your bike or car.. Ethanol is some of the worst fuel to run in anything....
Every day at just about every station. The stuff with ethanol in it is marked so you can avoid it.

Wallace Roberts I get all of that I am a gear head.
I used to love to get a hold of some Ethanol to run in my little 340 six-pack, Doug Thorley Headers, Edlebrock Intake with Carter AFB. I had jets to richer it up and advance the timing when I ran Ethanol that and sticky slick retreads. and I was good to go at Orange County International Raceway Wednesday night Grudge races running low 12's high 11's that was 1975. getting the o-rings and float bowl gaskets of a material that was Ethanol neutral was not a problem. back than if you ran a blower you kind of had to use Ethanol, because the combustion chamber shape. It was no big deal 35 years ago. and for a Motorcycle, The old carburetors (Makuni's) as long as they were not a constant velocity type with rubber diaphram type here arn't any O-rings other then the air bleed screw .

Michael Meyer, I also ran a 340 back in the day, but just a 4-barrel; used to mop up on Chevy small blocks with it doing the street-racing thang. Man, those headers were a beast to install -- they had a 2-part design to get around the steering linkage. Fun times, thanks for the memories!

Wallace Roberts yes the four Barrell produced more power and I didn't have to retune every other weekend. Do I took the 6 pack off. But today I could get more money for that 6 pack manifold today the what got for the car when I sold it in 1985
