We all know women held much higher prestige in pre-Christianized cultures. This can be seen in much of Gaelic and Gaelic history to include a famous British queen, Boudicca, who led the fight to repel Roman invaders. And that's not even taking in to account the Chess set where the most powerful piece is the queen. Now, we learn that a high ranking Viking warrior, once thought a man, is now proven to be a woman.
