So, in 2016 the mayor and city attorney for Miami called into question a study by FIU regarding the consequences of any flooding in the that might occur in south east Florida. When the study was published they called it "fake science" (sound familiar) and tried to discredit it.

Now, Hurricane Irma. And the city of Miami, as well as sewage infrastructure from all the nearby cities and towns, will be put to the test. Will the study hold true or will Miami skate by? Will people want to vacation in #PooTown, USA?

Local authorities dismissed the study’s results, calling them sloppy science. It will be more difficult to dismiss whatever evidence about Florida’s vulnerable sewer system Irma washes up.
