It's no secret the Marvel Cinematic Universe show runners have tweaked their characters a bit. For example, Captain America is shown as stronger while the Hulk is shown as weaker. Now, if this math is to be believed, they're going to make Spider-Man stronger. #SpiderMan has always been strong, but when he becomes too strong it takes away from the character.

He's still the greatest superhero ever though.

From what we've seen the characters are just as strong as they should be...cap can lift almost 2 tons so it isn't out of the realm of possibility for him to do things like stop a helicopter from taking especially if he's not necessarily lifting it...so yh I think they finally will get spideys strength right, I feel like a lot of people just don't know exactly how strong he is so it seems weird

I do agree that hulk was de-powered a lot tho

Jason Todd, Captain America has always been touted as a person with "peak human" performance. I don't know of many humans who lift a ton much less two.

Roughly 800lbs looks to be the max, under supreme effort.

Jason O. Nungesser(null) your definitely right in the fact that the classic and other older versions of the character weren't as strong as im saying but overtime we've seen the definition of "peak human" ability change.
I mean we've seen Cap do things like punch a hole in an armored tank with his bare hands, break Tony's extremist armor and even use his shield to break ultrons adumantium neck so judging by what I've seen cap do in the comics, I feel like branding him as a man in peak human condition is simply lip service.

Here he's listed in the 800-1200lbs category, which matches the above 800lbs max. So, high end of "peak" or low end of "superhuman."

I should note, we're talking about the (original) Earth-616 Captain America, Steve Rogers. Not any of the other people who have carried the mantle and not any of the other, alternate, Captain America's in the multiverse.

I'm shutting down Google+ for the night and quite possibly for the weekend. Why? This stupid #gifwars thing people are so proud of. This Adam Black guy said he doesn't like gifs and now everyone is mass trolling him. Having been mass trolled like this I can relate to him easily enough. Have an opinion and the collective might of Google+'s lower class denizens jump on a bandwagon. I just saw a post where someone wanted to jump on board and had to get clarification she was tagging the proper Adam Black. She wasn't even connected to him ! Nor was she a part of the original discussion. She just wanted to follow the herd. When I called her out of it she claimed, "one gif doesn't make a troll." Perhaps not, but she's contributing to a larger troll effort. One straw doesn't break the camel's back, but thousands will. So, tonight, Google+ disgusts me. It probably will tomorrow as well. And possibly Sunday. I gave up Google+ for two months this spring
