In 1984 I would have sided with Lucas, but after the prequels ... I don't know. I guess I'll know on Dec. 18.

As we learned with The Empire Strikes Back.... the less that George is directly involved, the better the movie is. I'm just looking forward to the possibility of decent dialogue for once.
David Bleecher I don't get why everyone hates George so much. You act like every single word of dialogue was garbage. To hear people talk, the prequels are some of the worst movies in history. I'm honestly surprised some nut hasn't taken a shot at him yet.
Matthew Christiansen I don't hate George, I think that he had a spectacular vision but is a shitty writer. Just read the dialogue between Anakin and Padme. I've seen porn with better dialogue. He definitely has strengths, but decent dialogue is one of his greatest weaknesses. Disney recognized this and nixed his script.

Plus, George has famously stated that he wrote the prequels to be viewed "silently." That is, the movies were supposed to be watched sans the dialogue with only the character's actions telling the story. Personally, I think that's a BS answer that was designed by a PR department to explain the shoddy scripts.

I'll admit, George is a great story teller, but he fails miserably as a director and stumbles as a writer.
