annabelle lee and Josh Caine The monopolies would be the problem, then. Of course as long as there is a monopoly, the merchant is king and the customers are serfs. It's been that way since the dawn of time. I am just surprised that it is possible to uphold a monopoly without the active collusion of the government. Usually the profit margins would be fat enough to entice new competitors. Certainly that is how it worked here in northern Europe: Once the government opened the doors, there was a rush of competition.

For cable, it's Comcast. For DSL it's CenturyLink. Both suck.
