So, the entire article didn't mention Kevin Rose but once?

So, the entire article didn't mention Kevin Rose but once? This article wasn't how Kevin Rose could make Google+ better, but how Rick Bakas would make Google+ better

There was nothing about what +Kevin Rose will bring to the table or how his experience with social will make G+ a better tool.

In short, this article was dumb.

Oh, and Rick Bakas, having a trending article doesn't mean it's a good article. It means it's trending. You know, like Justin Bieber and American Idol trend. That doesn't make them the Beatles and Johnny Carson.

there's irony in #1, don't make Googliers top influencers? Isn't that the whole point of spamming the world that Kevin Rose joins Google? he's influential alright, he posted about an appointment to get a haircut at google and it got dozens of replies, re-shares, and likes. That by itself tells me there's something rotten on G+. Maybe it isn't too late but it is getting very close to being out of time for me. But I don't factor in the algorithm.

I agree, Googlers should be removed from the algorithm as top influencers. Heck, maybe the algorithm needs to change from one of most commented/shared to something else, like most posts made. Vic Gundotra posts that he ties his shoes with the wrong knot (and I'm making that up, by the way) and it would get a million shares and +1s for that one post a day.

And yet other people share great thoughts and ideas all day long with a much smaller responses because they're not famous names or geek magnets.
haircuts and knot tying. Yep, if you're already famous you can say anything and not see the problem. I don't have a problem with brands and bullshit being included provided I don't see it and have a place that I do want participate in. But it isn't about social at all is it? It never was.
