The article asks if it's okay to "name and shame" people publicly on social media. I say it is. If you're okay doing something then you should be okay with people knowing you did it.

I can't actually read the article. It gets covered with a full screen pop-up and there's no way to dismiss it. Sigh.

Gah! I hate that. You seeing this, 9NEWS? Your crappy ad service is preventing people from viewing your content.

Bodhipaksa,

KUSA - There are those who protect and respect nature, and those who don't.
There's now an Instagram account that's shaming people in Colorado who choose not to.
The account is called "trailtrashco," and the person running the account wrote "Play by the rules or get named and shamed" in the description.
There are pictures of graffiti, pictures of people breaking the rules at Hanging Lake (a lot of pictures of that, actually), and of course, posts shaming humans who leave behind dog poop. People can submit pictures of others who disrespect the trails, or wilderness.
Some of the trailtrashco's photos do specifically call out the rule breaker by name.
We're not sure how this will end up eventually, but with summer coming, there are bound to be more rule-breakers.
Do you think social media shaming is the right way to way to curb this kind of behavior?

It also has a handful of embeds to the Instagram account:"trailtrashco" as examples.
