At the vet with #Rufus. I think they put us in the "death" room. Lots of photos of older dogs, a poem about how dogs are important to us and boxes upon boxes of tissues.

This does not bode well.

FWIW the vets I've been to for this had a fancier room with a couch. I hope Rufus is okay for a little longer.

Apparently someone put our appointment down as "euthanasia". I was startled, "What? No! We're just here for a checkup and to see if his diarrhea is an issue with his cancer!"

For what it's worth, he's as healthy as can be all things considered. Getting an update to his pain medication, but otherwise he's okay.

Jason ON Well I hope that you make a complaint about that because that wasn't nice of this person and what if you weren't saying this we are coming only for a check up and then left the room for taking a pee for example then your pet was already dead......

Did you know dog meat is served in restaurants in South Korea? I didn't. In the United States and most western countries, Fido is a family companion and while it's not ethical to judge another culture by our standards, anyone who doesn't at least (humanely) butcher the animal first is acting without proper care. South Korea relies on western consumerism for their economy and needs to be aware that we do not accept the practice of skinning and boiling dogs alive. Originally shared by April Benney Over 6,000 restaurants in South Korea are still serving dog meat even though it is now illegal. In many Asian countries dogs are boiled alive or skinned alive when slaughtered. It's an unbelievably horrendous & torturous way to die.
