This has probably been plastered all over G+ by now but someone took shots at a #GOP baseball practice where Congress persons and their aides were on the field. According to ABC the shooters name is James T. Hodgkinson.

Virginia is a gun friendly state. Will the GOP shift their support for gun control now that they're targets? Will they become even more reserved from public appearances? Will they even take an internal look at to why someone dislikes their policies enough to open fire on a baseball field?

Yes, don't forget the thoughts. And then if the shooter is black he's a terrorist, and if he's white he's mentally ill.

I thought brown was terrorist, and black was from bad neighborhoods where people don't bother to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and stay off the pipe. I could be behind, though.

Supposed to be a 66 year old white guy. Now it will be interesting to hear if he is a Democrat or not. If he is expect it to be trumpeted by Trump. If he is a Republican with Tea Party leanings nothing will be said by Trump.

Thanks Bodhipaksa for the info and also the wash post citation.

It is sad that shots were fired at Rep. Gabby Gifford a ways back and also the Congressional Representatives today.

Unfortunately now the Congresspeople will "armor up" for every meeting with constituents as well as private time with their families. Thereby making our elected solons harder to reach physically and mentally since they will be worried about the whack-job in the crowd.

A turn for coarsening of society. What an ugly place to be.

I'm shutting down Google+ for the night and quite possibly for the weekend. Why? This stupid #gifwars thing people are so proud of. This Adam Black guy said he doesn't like gifs and now everyone is mass trolling him. Having been mass trolled like this I can relate to him easily enough. Have an opinion and the collective might of Google+'s lower class denizens jump on a bandwagon. I just saw a post where someone wanted to jump on board and had to get clarification she was tagging the proper Adam Black. She wasn't even connected to him ! Nor was she a part of the original discussion. She just wanted to follow the herd. When I called her out of it she claimed, "one gif doesn't make a troll." Perhaps not, but she's contributing to a larger troll effort. One straw doesn't break the camel's back, but thousands will. So, tonight, Google+ disgusts me. It probably will tomorrow as well. And possibly Sunday. I gave up Google+ for two months this spring
